The Taylor T5 was created to address a changing reality for working guitarists – declining budgets for road shows that reduce the number of guitars carried on tour. At one time, guitarists would carry and use the instrument best suited to a particular part, and this led to many road cases full of guitars on the shipping systems. In the new reality, guitarists had to choose fewer instruments – or just one – to do everything.
Enter the Taylor T5, which uses a chambered body and a mix of piezo and magnetic pickups to provide acoustic and electric tones. If you have a chance to attend a Taylor Road Show, take it – it’s impressive to see the Taylor reps show how well the T5 can do perform this task.
This Taylor T5 C2-12 is the 12-string model, with a lovely Koa top and sunburst finish. Taylor is very well known for their 12-string models, and the lessons learned are present here; this plays very easily and cleanly. This guitar is in very good, clean condition, with just minor wear. The original hardshell case is included.
