The Taylor GS, or Grand Symphony, is one of the largest body shapes Taylor offers. Roughly similar to the profile of classic instruments like the Gibson J-200, the Taylor GS has a bold, strong voice.
This Taylor GS Custom features a Sitka Spruce top and Rosewood back and sides, with mahogany neck and ebony for the fingerboard, bridge and headplate. With a slightly larger footprint than the Grand Auditorium, the Taylor GS yields a slightly more potent and dynamic all-around sound. Players can expect deeper bass, thicker trebles, and increased volume and low-end sustain, all without disrupting the tonal balance and clarity of the guitar.
This example dates to July 2009 and was built at the Taylor plant in El Cajon, California. It is in excellent condition with very little wear. The endpin jack is missing but this is easily replaced, perhaps with an endpin jack for a pickup system.
