Brand: Taylor
Instrument Categories: 12 String, Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
Built from 1998 to 2011, the Taylor 355 is a traditional jumbo-body 12-string acoustic guitar, with no cutaway and no pickups. It’s been superseded by other models like the 356ce, which have the now-standard cutaway and Taylor Expression System pickup sets.
This Taylor 355 dates to 2004 and was built at the Taylor plant in El Cajon, California. It’s in good playing condition and has recently been in The Twelfth Fret Repair Shop for a fret dress and setup. The top is Spruce, with mahogany for the sides and back. The neck is mahogany with ebony for the fingerboard, bridge and rosewood for the headplate. The top has some wear through the finish, between the bridge and the pickguard, likely from the player anchoring their hand position with the little finger. The tone is full and rich – 12-strings can be ‘tinny’ in smaller body designs, and the jumbo body used here helps fill out the sonic spectrum. The original hardshell case is included.
