Gibson Sonex guitars appeared only for a few years, from 1980 to 1984. The Gibson Sonex 180 Standard was exclusive to 1980, with a black finish and bolt-on mahogany neck. The Sonex uses an innovative body material – a mahogany core is built up with ‘Resonwood’, a durable, resonant and stable coating.
This Sonex 180 Standard was produced during 1980, he only year of production, is in good working order and appears to be in original condition. The pickups are Dirty Fingers humbuckers, and the rest of the metal hardware is chrome plated. Fretwear is light to moderate. The finish is black, the only colour offered, and has light wear and scuffing.
A generic teardrop shaped hardshell case is included.
