❌SOLD❌ 1965 Hofner Verithin model 4574

Comments	Presenting – the 1965 Hofner Verithin model 4574! Hofner built the model 4574 from 1960 to 1974, and technically the ‘Verithin’ name applies to the Selmer-branded guitars – but as they are otherwise extremely similar, the name has crossed brand boundaries. Hofner now includes ‘Verythin’ models in their standard lineup. The guitar is built similarly to the highly successful Beatle Bass, with a spruce top and arched back and sides. Early models used the same rectangular control plate and ‘teacup’ knobs as the bass, but by 1965 the controls had moved to the inline configuration shown here, with a master volume and two tone controls.

Neck	Maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. There is a long-ago repaired crack at the back of the headstock by the low E tuner.
Frets	Original frets, including zero fret, with some wear.
Body	Thin, hollowbody guitar with F-holes and longitudunal tone bars. Spruce top and curly maple back and sides.
Finish	Original nitrocellulose lacquer finish with lots of natural checking but little actual wear.
Hardware/electronics	Original hardware except for strap pin, missing pickguard, vibrato arm and spring. Hofner pickups, adjustable bridge. There have been some wiring repairs over the years.
Playability/Action	Plays well and cleanly with the current setup.
Case	No case included.
