Pre-Sold‼ Gibson Clapton Firebird I 1964 Model Sunburst, 2019

Pre-Sold‼ Gibson Clapton Firebird I 1964 Model Sunburst, 2019

This fantastic instrument is pre-sold, but we wanted to share it. It’s a brand new Gibson Clapton Firebird, number 100 of just 100 built to re-create Clapton’s 1964 Firebird I as used in Cream. Gibson introduced the Firebird in 1963, initially using neck-through construction – while the neck section is built of several sections of Mahogany separated by Walnut for stability, it extends the full length of the guitar.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson TB250 Mastertone Tenor Banjo, 1969

❌SOLD❌ Gibson TB250 Mastertone Tenor Banjo, 1969

THere we have a Gibson TB250 Mastertone Tenor Banjo, built during 1969 at the historic Parsons Street shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This model was built from 1994 to 1996, and models from 1960 on bear the Mastertone name. Gibson banjos were the center of the banjo universe for decades, but with the rise of serious amplification and rock music, the banjo as an instrument fell out of popular favour. It was still found in various music genres, particularly Irish, traditional jazz and bluegrass, but not much beyond them.

❌SOLD❌ National Val Pro 82 Vermillion Red, 1962

The National Val Pro 82 was the single-pickup version of the ‘Map Body’ Val Pro line, built during 1962 and 1963 by Valco in Chicago, Illinois.  National itself began in 1927 with the invention of the Resophonic guitar, but in 1928 the original builders – the Dopyera brothers – left to form Dobro, and in 1932 the Dopyera’s bought a controlling interest in National and merged the two companies.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson CS Les Paul Custom Black, 2014

❌SOLD❌ Gibson CS Les Paul Custom Black, 2014

Built at the now-closed Gibson Memphis Custom Shop, this gloss black CS Les Paul Custom dates to 2014 and has all the class and looks of the Custom. The Gibson Les Paul Custom was introduced for the 1954 model year as a ‘dressed up’ version of Gibson’s then-new Les Paul model. The black finish with white multi-ply binding were meant to suggest a tuxedo. At first, it was equipped with a P-90 at the bridge and a ‘Stape Top’ Alnico V pickup at the neck. More important, though, was the wood choice.
