❌SOLD❌Larrivee LS 09 Small Body Steel String Natural, 2000

The Larrivee LS 09 uses the Larrivee Small body design – half an inch shallower, an inch narrower at the lower bout, half an inch narrower at the waist, but .2 inches wider at the upper bout. Otherwise, construction is very similar to the full size L body. As an ’09’ level guitar, the Larrivee LS 09 uses a Sitka Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the sides and back, Mahogany for the body blocks and neck, and Ebony for the head plate, bridge and grained ivoroid-bound fingerboard.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES335 Dot Neck Thinline Electric Sunburst, 1959

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES335 Dot Neck Thinline Electric Sunburst, 1959

This Gibson ES335 Dot Neck Thinline, built during 1959 features the now standard construction – Maple laminate top, back and sides, Maple center block, Mahogany neck and bound Rosewood fingerboard.   For these early models, the Rosewood used was sourced from Brazil – at the time, this was an extremely common wood and used on even low cost instruments.  This guitar was originally shipped with a Bigsby tailpiece; this was removed, put in the case, and replaced with a stop tailpiece.

❌SOLD❌ Rickenbacker 4001FL Fretless Maple Glo 1978

❌SOLD❌ Rickenbacker 4001FL Fretless Maple Glo 1978

Only available as a special order during the 1960s and based closely on the base 4001  model, the Rickenbacker 4001FL was offered from 1968 until the 4001 was discontinued in 1989. The key differences between the 4001 and the Rickenbacker 4001FL are in the fingerboard and binding. Naturally, the bound Padouk fingerboard is fretless, but is not a modified fretted board. Some builders will use a fretted board, filling the slots with veneer, giving visible markings an an aid to intonation.

❌SOLD❌ Martin D-21 Dreadnought Brazilian Rosewood, 1958

❌SOLD❌ Martin D-21 Dreadnought Brazilian Rosewood, 1958

Built from 1955 to 1969, the Martin D-21 was a bridge between the Mahogany D-18 and the Rosewood D-28 models, with Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides but without extra binding or decoration. Martin stopped building the D-21 about the same time their stocks of Brazilian Rosewood were exhausted, and demand for the model was not enough to justify shifting it to Indian Rosewood.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson J-45 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought, 1949

❌SOLD❌ Gibson J-45 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought, 1949

The Gibson J-45 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought is one of the classic American guitars, built for the working or aspiring musician. It’s not fancy, but delivers exactly what it needs to. Warm and full sounding, this model has long been a favourite for singer-songwriters. The round upper bouts or shoulders differentiate the design from Martin’s square-shoulder ‘D’line, though the first incarnations of that model also had round shoulders.
