Over the years, there have been a few guitars with the Gibson SG Deluxe name, but this one from 2013 is perhaps the most genuinely Deluxe. Sporting a flamed Maple top on a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck with bound headstock and bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard and split-diamond inlays, the 2013 Gibson SG Deluxe also featured three ’57 Classic pickups with some new wiring.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson SG Supreme Fireburst, 2002

The Gibson SG Supreme was built from 1999 to 2009 and features a figured Maple cap on a Mahogany slab body, paired with a Mahogany neck and bound Richlite fingerboard. At first, the SG Supreme was equipped with a pair of P-90 pickups, but these were phased out in favour of Humbuckers over the year 2000 and into 2001. In 2002, the ‘Fireburst’ finish seen here started rising from the tail of the guitar, rather than the traditional burst with dark edges and lighter center.

The Gibson SG Standard and Custom first appeared under the Les Paul name but with a complete redesign, in late 1960 as 1961 models. Built with the now-familiar double cutaway Mahogany body with Mahogany neck and Rosewood fingerboard, the re-design offered lighter weight and complete access to the upper frets.

The Gibson SG Custom began its career as a radically re-worked version of the Les Paul Custom, along with the SG Standard. Gibson was faced with poor sales of the original single-cut Les Paul model, and in 1960 began to introduce a much lighter double-cutaway version that allowed unrestricted access to all of the neck.

The Gibson SG Standard has been one of the core instruments for rock and blues styles since its introduction as the 1961 Les Paul model. The Les Paul designation lasted only about a year and a half, ending with Gibson’s endorsement contract with Les Paul.

The Gibson SG Standard Bass is a rebuild of the classic Gibson EB-3 basses used from 1953 into the mid 1960’s, particularly by Jack Bruce in Cream. Gibson introduced their first electric bass in 1953, the violin-shaped Gibson Electric Bass as a response to Fender’s ground-breaking 1951 Precision Bass.
