As a 2015 model, the primary difference from the current version is the bracing style. The 2018 models use a new V-format bracing.

This Yair Stern Teardrop mandolin is a new instrument, and is well made with quality materials. The tone is warm yet bright and snappy, well balanced with good clarity and separation. It is very comfortable to play and its light hand applied finish provides some protection but does not restrict the wood’s vibration. The tailpiece is a cast, chrome plated AShton Bailey unit. The tuners are also chrome plated, with faux pearl buttons.
