❌SOLD❌ PRS S2 Vela Solidbody Tobacco Burst, 2015

The PRS S2 Vela is a solid Mahogany set neck, straight ahead guitar somewhat reminiscent of some 1960’s solid bodies but with modern features and PRS versatility. In all original, very good condition, this PRS S2 Vela was built during 2015 at the PRS shop in Stevensville, Maryland. It combines a nicely contoured Mahogany body with a Mahogany set neck and Indian Rosewood fingerboard.

❌SOLD❌ Martin M38 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1977

❌SOLD❌ Martin M38 Steel String Guitar Natural, 1977

The Martin M38 uses Martin’s largest non-dreadnought body design, sometimes called the ‘0000’ body because of its size and balanced shape. Martin’s M body draws from a guitar built for David Bromberg by Matt Umanov in the 1960s, which itself is a flat-top conversion of a Martin F-7, an archtop model built between 1935 and 1939, and from 1941 into 1942. The M38 was built from 1977 to 1997, as the 0000-38 from 1997 to 1998, and again as the M38 from 2007 to 2011. Currently Martin builds the M36 as a standard model.

❌ SOLD❌ PRS SC 245 Solidbody, Trans Brown, 2008

Here we’re looking at a PRS SC 245 built during 2008 at the PRS shop in Stevensville, Maryland. It’s in very good condition, with only slight wear; the nickel plated metal parts are developing a natural patina. This example is built using a bookmatched, carved Flame Maple top on a contoured Mahogany back and a Mahogany neck bearing an unbound Indian Rosewood fingerboard with Bird inlays. The neck joint is nicely contoured for comfort.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Custom 62 Reissue White, 2000

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Custom 62 Reissue White, 2000

The Gibson Les Paul Custom 62 Reissue recalls the complete redesign of the Les Paul, triggered in 1961 by poor sales, ironic for a guitar that’s now very highly valued. By 1963, the model was renamed at Les Paul’s request, and Gibson called it the ‘SG’. Like the original, the Les Paul Custom 62 Reissue uses a contoured Mahogany slab body with a Mahogany neck. Like previous Les Paul Custom models, the fingerboard is Ebony instead of Rosewood, and the position markers are Mother of Pearl blocks.

❌SOLD❌ Replica Bigsby 49 Standard Birdseye Maple, 2019

❌SOLD❌ Replica Bigsby 49 Standard Birdseye Maple, 2019

Here is a very unusual guitar – a Replica Bigsby 49 Standard, reproducing one of the very few, very first, very influential solidbody electric guitars. Paul Arthur Bigsby was a machinist with a strong interest in motorcycles and, as it turned out, guitars. He built a number of pedal steel guitars, perhaps 50 Spanish style guitars, and designed a now widely used hand vibrato tailpiece for Merle Travis. As well, he replaced the neck on Merle’s Martin, with a much slimmer neck sporting the distinctive Bigsby headstock. This neck aided the Travis style, which involves wrapping the left thumb over the low strings for bass notes.
