The Gibson Les Paul Pro Deluxe was built from 1978 to 1982 and blended features of several previous Les Paul models. Based on the Les Paul Deluxe, the Pro Deluxe had P-90’s in place of mini-humbuckers, a Maple neck and Ebony fingerboard with trapezoidal position markers.

The Jackson Mark Morton Dominion Pro is a signature model with a through-neck design, built for fast, precise playing. This model is constructed of Mahogany, with a bound compound radius Ebony fingerboard. The neck also uses a scarf joint at the head to improve strength and reduce chances of breakage, and also has graphite reinforcement rods for stability.

MORE →Here’s a very cool 1978 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top with Bigsby installed. Gibson, then owned by Norlin, introduced the Les Paul Deluxe model in 1968. It’s possible that part of the reason for the model was excess stock of Epiphone ‘New Yorker’ mini-humbuckers; it was realized that a modified P-90 cover could hold the mini-humbucker and no major development was needed as there were already Les Paul models, and jigs for making them, using P-90s. The Deluxe was discontinued in 1985.
