❌SOLD❌ Pedro de Miguel Flamenco Negra Guitar, 1999

❌SOLD❌ Pedro de Miguel Flamenco Negra Guitar, 1999

Here we’re looking at a Pedro de Miguel Flamenco Negra Guitar, built during 1999 and showing signs of being well used for its intended purpose.  Traditionally, Flamenco guitars are built very lightly, with Spruce tops and Cypress for the sides and back, and with a low action.  The goal is to produce a bright, percussive and responsive tone with fast attack.   Because of the light colour of Cypress wood, these are referred to as Flamenco Blanca guitars.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES175 Single Pickup Archtop Electric Sunburst, 1966

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES175 Single Pickup Archtop Electric Sunburst, 1966

One of the classic musical workhorses, the Gibson ES175 single pickup guitar made its debut in 1949 with a P-90 at the neck, with the pickup updated to the all-new humbucker in 1957. In 1952, the ES175D (for Double pickup) appeared, with a second pickup in the bridge position. These guitars were immediate hits with professional players and serious amateurs in many genres – Jazz, Pop, and Country were the most common and the ES-175 was a standard for jazz players from its introduction until being recently discontinued.

❌SOLD❌ G W Barry M Body Cutaway Indian Rosewood, 1995

❌SOLD❌ G W Barry M Body Cutaway Indian Rosewood, 1995

The G W Barry M Body guitar is a very successful and versatile design based on the classic OM introduced by Martin, with a long scale neck on a 000 sized body. G W Barry has been building for decades starting with years for Jean Larrivee, and his skill at not only building but also voicing is evident in this 23-year old M body cutaway model. This particular guitar was recently rebuilt by Barry, with work including a neck reset with fret dress and a neck-off refinish of the top that included a repair to a top crack.

❌SOLD❌ Royal Aire by National Solidbody Electric Guitar Sunburst, 1951

Here is a rarity – a Royal Aire by National solid body electric guitar, dating to 1951 and one of the earliest production electrics for National and its parent Valco.  Clearly a National model given its construction and components,  Royal Aire branded instruments are few and far between.  Around 1947, Valco contracted with Gibson to produce some Royal Aire flat top acoustics, based on the LG-3.  Here,  Valco / National used a National neck with its shield logo plate engraved to read Royal Aire.

❌SOLD❌ Rickenbacker 4004Cii Cheyenne Bass FireGlo, 2008

❌SOLD❌ Rickenbacker 4004Cii Cheyenne Bass FireGlo, 2008

The Rickenbacker 4004Cii is a bass we don’t see very often. Built using largely American farm-grown sustainable woods, this bass uses a body of Maple with Walnut core, and an Eastern Maple neck with a Bubinga fingerboard, running the length of the instrument. The 4004Cii Cheyenne uses the classic Cresting Wave body shape originally designed by Roger Rossmeisl in the late 1950’s, and still vibrant and evocative today.
