MORE →Shown here is Yamaha SG2000 Reissue with Red Sunburst, built around July 2010 and in very good, original condition. Introduced in 1976, the Yamaha SG2000 was considered perhaps the finest solidbody guitar from Japan – perhaps from anywhere – for its time. This design was the result of a collaboration between Yamaha and Carlos Santana to improve the Yamaha SG175.

MORE →One of the iconic rock basses, the Rickenbacker 4001 bass was built as a two-pickup version of the 4000 bass, adding a neck pickup to the distinctive Cresting Wave body design by German luthier and designer Roger Rossmeisl. Built from 1961 to somewhere between 1983 and 1985 when it was replaced by the 4003 bass, the Rickenbacker 4001 bass features a Maple body and through-body Maple neck, with a bound and finished Indian Rosewood fingerboard.

MORE →Here’s a very nice Gibson Firebird V in Tobacco Sunburst, built during 2013 at Nashville, Tennessee and sporting Steinberger locking, gearless tuners in place of the original Kluson banjo models. Firebirds are one of my favourite models, and this one is very resonant and lively. As a bonus, the lighter Steinberger locking tuners help with the guitar’s balance.

MORE →Introduced in 1963, the Gibson Firebird V with its neck-through design was a radical departure from most of the guitars available at the time. The original models were referred to as ‘Reverse’ as the offset body used the opposite orientation as most guitar bodies, particularly Fender’s then-new Offset-body Jazzmaster and Jaguar.
