The Taylor Solidbody Standard was built from 2008 until the line was discontinued in 2014, and for two years featured a Sapele body with a lovely Tamo Ash top. Over the course of its production, Taylor offered three models – the Classic, Standard and Custom, in single and double cutaway versions. While called a solidbody, the Taylor Solidbody Standard is actually chambered. For 2008 and 2008, the body is Sapele with a Tamo Ash veneer top, Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the fingerboard head plate and truss rod cover. For hardware, standard Taylor branded sealed tuners are at the head, a pair of Taylor Style 1 humbucking pickups with a 5-way pickup selector, and Master Volume and Tone controls.

The Suhr Modern Pro Mahogany features a flame-maple capped Mahogany body and a Mahogany neck with a compound-radius Pau Ferro fingerboard sporting stainless steel frets. This example, built during 2015, features a Bengal Burst finish over a nicely flamed, book-matched Maple top, an H-H pickup configuration using Suhr Aldrich pickups. The wiring includes a ‘Blower Switch’, which takes you to a flat-out bridge pickup regardless of any other control setting. Other hardware includes a Gotoh 510 bridge and Suhr locking tuners.

During the 1950’s, the Custom differed from the rest of the Les Paul line in an invisible way. Unlike the other models with a Maple cap, the Custom had a carved Mahogany top.

The Larrivee J03 Mahogany Jumbo is part of the Recording series, which lowers costs through plainer appointments, while maintaining overall quality. The Larrivee J or Jumbo body is based on a design pioneered by Gibson at the end of WWII with the SJ-200, and successfully used by notable builders like Guild. The Jumbo design provides lots of power and volume with clarity and separation

Eastman E8OM Steel String Guitar, Natural

The Eastman E8OM features all solid wood construction and a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The top, with Herringbone purfling, is Sitka Spruce, the sides, back and headplate Indian Rosewood. The body blocks and dovetail-joint neck are Mahogany, with Ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. Unusually, the fingerboard also appears to have a light coat of clear lacquer. The inlays are subtle, small snowflakes in Abalone. The example seen here is strictly acoustic, but it is available with an L R Baggs pickup system.

❌SOLD❌Gretsch 6193 Country Club Archtop Electric Natural, 1956

Here is a rarity – from 1956, a Gretsch 6193 Country Club in natural finish, with an added vintage Bigsby B6 and aluminum bridge set. The 6193 Country Club was introduced in 1954 as the top of the Gretsch line, but had previously appeared in 1951 as the Electro II Cutaway. The 6193 model number indicates the natural ‘blonde’ finish; the 6192 was sunburst and the 6196 Cadillac Green. This Gretsch 6193 is not in fully original condition, as the original G-cutout tailpiece and Melita bridge were removed long ago to make way for the Bigsby B6 set. The Bigsby’s string bar features thread-in string pins, used on 1950’s and early 1960’s models.
