❌SOLD❌ Takamine LTD 98 Limited Edition Steel String Guitar, 1998

The Takamine LTD 98 was the Limited Edition model for 1998 – a tradition for Takamine since at least 1987, and built at their plant in Nakatsugawa, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. At the time of construction, this plant was in Sakashita, but in 2005 Sakashita was merged into Nakatsugawa along with several other towns and villages. Takamine opened in spring 1962, and by the mid 1970s had scored great successes with their pioneering electric-acoustic guitars with factory built-in pre-amplified pickups.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson SJ-100 1941 Reissue Sunburst, 2013

Built in Bozeman, Montana and for the moment out of production, the Gibson SJ-100 1941 Reissue recreates the sound and feel of the pre-war Mahogany body jumbo. The Super Jumbo body style appeared in 1938 and is best known for the J-200 model, with Spruce top and Maple for the back and sides, and often highly decorated beyond the hand-painted pickguard. In 1939, the less expensive and less decorated SJ-100 appeared, with a Spruce top, but with Mahogany for the back and sides and with a much plainer – and thinner – pickguard.

❌ SOLD ❌ Gibson Southern Jumbo Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2004

❌ SOLD ❌ Gibson Southern Jumbo Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2004

The Gibson Southern Jumbo is closely related to the classic J-45, and at times the differences have been mostly market driven and cosmetic. Apparently named to appeal to Gibson dealers in the American South – referring to the Mason-Dixon line, the Southern Jumbo or SJ uses slope-shoulder, spruce and mahogany body construction. The key differences are additional binding on the fingerboard and split-parallelogram position markers.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson SJ-200 Standard Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2015

Introduced in 1938, the Gibson SJ-200 was the top of the line, ‘King of the Flat Tops’, the largest and fanciest non-archtop model. In 1938, the price was a whopping $200, and as an option, you could have your name inlaid on the fingerboard for $50! It went straight to stages and studios, and has been there since. The SJ-200 has appeared on countless recordings, not just Country – both Pete Townsend and Jimmy Page relied on it.
