❌SOLD❌Gibson J45 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Sunburst, 1963

he Gibson J45 Slope Shouldered dreadnought, or Jumbo, was introduced in 1942 to replace the J-35, which had been built since 1936. It has remained in production ever since, and its rich warm tones make it a great match with a singer. Intended as a ‘working man’s guitar’, the Gibson J43 Slope Shouldered model was very similar to the J-35, but for the most part has stiffer, stronger and taller bracing shifted slightly back from the soundhole and a rounded neck profile.

Sold‼ Takamine DSF48C Santa Fe Steel String, 2002

The Takamine DSF48c Santa Fe is now discontinued, but replaced by the TSF48c – the difference is in the installed preamp, while the rest of the guitar is unchanged. Takamine was one of the first companies to market a successful pickup-equipped steel string guitar, and one of their key developments was with the preamp and EQ systems. For a time, it seemed every Country stage had at least one Takamine.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson J-45 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought, 1949

The Gibson J-45 Slope Shoulder Dreadnought is one of the classic American guitars, built for the working or aspiring musician. It’s not fancy, but delivers exactly what it needs to. Warm and full sounding, this model has long been a favourite for singer-songwriters. The round upper bouts or shoulders differentiate the design from Martin’s square-shoulder ‘D’line, though the first incarnations of that model also had round shoulders.

❌SOLD❌ Martin JC16RE Aura Jumbo Cutaway Steel String, 2007

The Martin JC16RE uses what is for that company an unusual body design, a Jumbo – slightly smaller than a Dreadnought in some dimensions, and larger than an OM or 000 in virtually all body dimensions. The proportions are similar to a classical guitar, so these Jumbo models tend to have a more even tonal representation throughout the harmonic range, plus more volume. This Martin JC16RE dates to 2007 and was built at the Martin plant in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
