❌SOLD❌ Gibson Mastertone RB250 5 String Banjo, 2003

For decades, the Gibson Mastertone RB250 banjo was the benchmark, workhorse banjo for countless players in country and bluegrass styles. During the later 1960’s and the 1970’s, however, quality suffered, until in 1984 Gibson hired Greg Rich to revamp the line and bring quality back to its original high level.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-125 Archtop Electric Sunburst, 1953

This Gibson ES-125 in the original full body, no cutaway, one pickup configuration, is clearly dated to 1953 from the FON, Factory Order Number stamped on the inside back and visible from the treble F-hole.  FON’s were used at various times, and from 1952 to 1961 started with a letter code, counting down from Z to Q. Y represents 1953, and this guitar was the 26th in batch 4011.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson SG Special P90 Cherry, 1966

The Gibson SG Special first appeared with the new Les Paul body shape in 1961, and renamed to SG as the endorsement contract lapsed. It was built until 1978 as a lower cost SG model. Featuring the same mahogany slab body and mahogany neck as other SG models, the Gibson SG Special first used a pair of P-90 pickups and an intonated, combination stop-bridge tailpiece. Some versions, such as this one, also carried a short-format Maestro Vibrola tailpiece.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Northern Jumbo Slope Shoulder Dreadnought Sunburst, 2007

Like a Southern Jumbo, the Gibson Northern Jumbo features a slope-shouldered dreadnought body, with a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany for the back, sides and neck. The fingerboard and bridge are Rosewood, with Mother of Pearl used for the inlays. A Firestripe type pickguard was stock. The top has a sunburst finish, on some promotional materials referred to as ‘Maple BUrst’, and the body has a dark tint. The rear of the headstock carries a decal of a Maple Leaf and ‘Limited Edition’ below. The truss rod cover is engraved ‘NORTHERN JUMBO’. As typical of Gibson acoustics of the period, an L R Baggs pickup system is discreetly installed, and the tuners are Grover Roto-Matics with nickel finish.
