❌SOLD❌ Fender Custom Shop G E Smith Telecaster Blonde, 2012

The Fender Custom Shop G E Smith Telecaster is a very straight ahead instrument, using the classic early 1950’s fatter maple neck on swamp ash body, with flat-head screws, instead of Philips screws. The pickups are American Vintage models, while the bridge plate is cut back to expose the pickup cavity; the pickup itself is bolted to the body. Smith feels that this contributes to an increased ‘fatness’ in the bridge pickup tone. The inlays draw from Fender lap steels, which Smith also plays.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Telecaster 63 NOS Custom Shop Candy Apple Red, 2007

❌SOLD❌ Fender Telecaster 63 NOS Custom Shop Candy Apple Red, 2007

This Fender Telecaster 63 NOS is based on Fender’s 1963 specs. It is in complete and all original condition, and in good shape – there are a few dents and small chips around the edges of the nitrocellulose lacquer body finish. It is unusual for players to keep the ‘Ashtray’ pickup cover on. Though its purpose is to provide some shielding for the bridge pickup, it can get in the way of palm muting, and most of the time it is removed, set aside, and lost. Not here!

❌SOLD❌ Fender Jazz Bass Refinished Sunburst, 1966

The Fender Jazz Bass appeared in 1960, at a time when Fender dominated the electric guitar and bass market, but needed to introduce new models. The Jazz Bass Intended as a Deluxe instrument with a very different sound, look and feel from the Precision Bass, which had in a few years become a standard. However, the P-Bass was not fully accepted by Jazz players, and Fender wanted to expand their market to include them.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Telecaster Blonde Refinish, 1964

❌SOLD❌ Fender Telecaster Blonde Refinish, 1964

This Fender Telecaster Blonde Refinish dates largely to 1964, with a 1966 neck pickup and a newer pickguard of the correct white/black/white layering. Long ago, the body was stripped and refinished blonde.   The neck has some lacquer sprayed over the original finish, but this is quite worn and much of the wood is exposed – which makes it very comfortable.  The original decal is in good condition; at the time, Fender applied the decals over the lacquer finish, and many have not worn well.

The Fender American Special Jazz Bass appeared during 2011, and features an Alder body with Maple neck, Pau Ferro fingerboard, and Vintage Alnico pickups. Very similar to the American Standard series, the American Special most visibly features the Greasebucket tone circuit, which rolls off highs while maintaining low-end definition.Fender introduced the Jazz Bass during 1960, and offered a much narrower neck than the wildly successful Precision Bass, and a pair of single coil pickups, with two pole pieces per string.
