The Jackson Stars line featured a number of familiar Jackson models and was built in Japan with very high quality, with importation limited 1990 and 1991. Subsequently, sales of these pro-level models was limited to the Japanese market. These followed the successful Charvel series, and began in 1990.  In 1992, production of bolt-on models began and importation of that line continued. This Jackson Stars SL-2H, Made In Japan and according to its serial number, during 1990. On these guitars, the serial number is an impressed stamp located on the body end of the fingerboard. It’s a six digit number, with the first digit indicating the year, counting from 1990.

When the Gibson ES-355 appeared alongside the ES-335 and ES-345 appeared in 1958, they were a hit and the ES-335 was the top of the line, with all the extras included as standard. As stock, it always included a vibrato tailpiece – either a Bigsby, a Maestro Vibrola, or the all-new Sideways Vibrola. In addition, the ES-355 was wired in ‘Stereo’ with two jacks so each pickup could go to a separate amplifier or channel.

The first Firebirds appeared in 1963 in the ‘Reverse’ body shape – referring to the lower, treble cutaway ‘horn’ being longer than the usual bass side, and with neck-through construction.
