The Schecter PT Apocalypse clearly draws from one of the most modified and modifiable instrument designs, the Fender Telecaster. Thousands of players have modified Teles to suit their own needs, and that sparked an entire industry in after-market parts. David Schecter was part of that original wave of parts suppliers, providing custom necks, bodies, bridges and other parts. This is not just a hot guitar, it’s very well thought out and well built and could well turn out to be as extremely versatile as the originals.

The Ernie Ball MusicMan JP6 is the original John Petrucci signature model, pairing a contoured basswood body with a Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard. Here we are looking at a very good condition Ernie Ball MusicMan JP6 BFR, or ‘Ball Family Reserve’ model, built with higher grade woods and finishes. This model dates to March 8 2011 and was built in San Luis Obispo, California.

This very clean Gibson ES339 Thinline Archtop Electric in Antique Vintage Sunburst was built during 2011 at the now-closed Memphis plant. Based on the successful ES-335, the ES-339 scales down the body width and length while maintaining the scale length and neck width. The result is a very comfortable and extremely versatile guitar with classic looks. Construction of the Gibson ES339 Thinline Archtop Electric follows the pattern of Gibson’s ES models and how that was adapted to the ground-breaking 1958 ES-335. From the late 1940’s, Gibson started using Maple Laminates for the top, back and sides of their electrified archtops in an effort to reduce both feedback and costs.

Here we have a wonderful rarity! One of the first Gibson Les Paul Junior Sunburst models built, from 1954 when the Junior was introduced. Intended as an entry level, student model, the Gibson Les Paul Junior Sunburst – the only finish it came in – was a bare-bones but high quality guitar with Tropical Mahogany for the body and neck, and Rosewood for the fingerboard; for most if not all of the Junior’s production run between 1954 and 1963 when it was discontinued, this meant Brazilian Rosewood. Position markers are simple Mother of Pearl dots.

SOLD Fender Jazz Bass Burgundy Refinish, 1962

Here we have a Fender Jazz Bass dating to 7 May 1962 with a Burgundy refinish replacing the original Sunburst. This is a fairly rare Rosewood Slab Board model, indicating a type of neck built in Fullerton, California until mid 1962. The Fender Jazz Bass was introduced in 1960, aimed at the Jazz bass players who had not adopted the Precision Bass or who wanted a thinner neck and more focused tone. The Offset Body that debuted on the 1958 Jazzmaster was used for the Jazz Bass body.

Here is a Douglas Harrison 17 inch Archtop cutaway guitar, built at Harrison’s shop in Toronto, Ontario during 2000. This model is now referred to as a ‘Classic Jazz’ or CJ. This excellent instrument is built in the traditional archtop model, pairing a hand carved, solid Spruce top with a hand carved Flame Maple back.
