❌SOLD❌ Huss & Dalton Crossroads 14 Sunburst, 2020

❌SOLD❌ Huss & Dalton Crossroads 14 Sunburst, 2020

The Huss & Dalton Crossroads 14 takes cues from the small body flat-top guitars used by many blues players from the 1920s to 1940s, but with more body depth to enhance bass response. This model is also available in a 12-fret version. The 14-fret version is really called the ‘Crossroads’,  with the 12-fret being the ‘Crossroads 12’,  but it’s easy to confuse the two.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Custom Le Grand Archtop Electric Natural, 2008

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Custom Le Grand Archtop Electric Natural, 2008

Here is a rare beauty – a Gibson Custom Le Grand archtop electric model from 2008, the successor to the classic Johnny Smith model built from 1961 to 1989. The Le Grand made its debut in 1993 and while it hasn’t appeared on Gibson’s website or catalog since around 2010, is still available on special order. The ‘stock’ finish is a Vintage Sunburst, with the Natural finish seen here as an extra-cost option. Always intended for the serious professional guitarist and never in mass production, the Gibson Custom Le Grand features a 17 inch wide body with carved, solid Sitka Spruce top, carved solid and highly figured Maple back and figured maple sides.

Fender 59 Reissue Stratocaster Sunburst, 2013 (No Longer Available)

Fender 59 Reissue Stratocaster Sunburst, 2013 (No Longer Available)

This Fender 59 Reissue Stratocaster sports the 3-tone sunburst Fender introduced in 1958, and the ‘Slab’ Rosewood fingerboard used when Fender first offered alternatives to one-piece Maple necks.   The body is Alder, which follows the model history. Fender initially used Ash or Swamp Ash, but by 1958 started to use Alder. With that change, a new finishing process was also used where the body wood was directly stained with yellow rather than adding yellow tint to clear lacquer (as is done with the red and black bands for the rest of the sunburst).

NO LONGER AVAILABLE!!! Fender EC Blackie Tribute Stratocaster Custom Shop, 2006

This is a real treat! One of only 275 built during 2006, here is a Fender EC Blackie Tribute Custom Shop Stratocaster, complete with Duck Bros flight case, Certificate of Authenticity and all of the related materials. The Fender EC Blackie is based very closely on Clapton’s original ‘Blackie’, itself pieced together by Clapton from three 1950’s Strats. That guitar was ultimately sold at auction to Guitar Center by Christie’s on June 24, 2004, in support of Crossroads Center Antigua,  the addiction recovery center Clapton helped found in 1998.

❌SOLD❌ Martin 00-14F Cutaway Guitar Toasted Burst, 2015

❌SOLD❌ Martin 00-14F Cutaway Guitar Toasted Burst, 2015

Here’s an unusual guitar from the Custom Shop – a Martin 0014F cutaway guitar with ‘Toasted Burst’ top finish, built during 2015 in very gently used condition.  This lovely venetian-cutaway model has a Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany sides, back and neck, and Ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. The 00-14F is a recent and custom-run model, and does not at present appear in the Martin catalog or website.  This example is in overall quite good condition with very little wear.  The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish is showing signs of naturally sinking, and is very clean with only the lightest scuffing.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker Manhattan Midnight, 2014

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker Manhattan Midnight, 2014

The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker appeared in 2014 as a 120th Anniversary model – a US made, reasonably priced high quality carved-top guitar with a solid history behind the names. The Melody Maker appeared in 1959 and built until 1971 as an entry level, thin slab Mahogany bodied single cutaway model, with one or two single coil pickups and a narrow headstock. The neck was Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard. For 1961, a second cutaway was added, but it wasn’t until 1967 that the Melody Maker got the ‘SG’ body shape.
