The Yamaha Grand Concert FC10 was part of Yamaha’s efforts to create top quality classical and flamenco guitars, an effort that began in the mid 1960s. At that point, Yamaha arranged for three luthiers – Hiroshi Harada, Hideyuki Ezaki and Toshio Kato, to learn from Spanish master Eduardo Ferrer.  Ferrer subsequently travelled repeatedly to Japan to aid in the production setup.

No Longer Available- Kolya Panhuyzen Professional Classical Guitar, 1980

This Kolya Panhuyzen Professional Classical Guitar built during 1980 at the Panhuyzen shop in Toronto, Canada. Constructed in the traditional Spanish manner with a true ‘slipper’ heel tying the sides into the block, this guitar features a Sitka Spruce top, Mahogany for the neck, Ebony for the fingerboard, and Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, headplate and bridge. The nut and saddle are bone, and the nickel-plated tuning machines are by Reischel, made in Munich, Germany.

Built in 1980 at his Toronto shop, this William Laskin 7-string classical is in excellent condition, and plays well. Showing a clear influence of his work with Jean Larrivee – Laskin was Larrivee’s first apprentice in 1970 – this guitar features a sharp Florentine cutaway body built with German Spruce and Indian Rosewood, with Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the bridge and fingerboard. The headplate is also Indian Rosewood.

Graf now builds north of Kingston, in Westport, Ontario.Born in Berlin, Oskar Graf has been building instruments since 1970 and is very highly regarded; his guitars are used by many top players. His brother Jurgen also builds high quality classical guitar tuning gears.

❌SOLD❌ Michael Schreiner Renaissance Lute Maple Cherry, 1980

The Schreiner Renaissance lute, with 7 courses, is built using largely traditional patterns and materials – in this case, the top is Spruce, the ribs are alternating Flame Maple and Cherry, with the neck being a light wood wrapped with Cherry, and topped with an Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The head is constructed of Maple, with Rosewood friction pegs. The bridge, basically a tie block, is made of Cherry. The frets are traditional knotted gut, but the strings are a modern nylon set with metal wound strings used in the bass courses.
