The Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom was introduced at the 2007 Winter NAMM show, and built until 2012. This model blended some of the aesthetics of the Les Paul Custom with the Classic construction. Here we’re looking at a Gibson Les Paul Classic Custom in White, built during October of 2007 at the Gibson Nashville plant. It’s in overall good condition with some wear and dings, but plays well and is quite comfortable.

We don’t see these often! The Gretsch White Penguin is the ‘Jet’ bodied version of the classic White Falcon, and here carries DynaSonic pickups and a ‘Cadillac’ tailpiece! The Gretsch White Penguin was officially launched in 1956 as a follow-up to the successful White Falcon. The White Falcon itself was created literally as a one-off showpiece, bling for the 1955 Winter NAMM show. However, the buyers at that show saw the Falcon differently and immediately placed more than enough orders to require regular production.

The Gibson ES-175D Double Pickup Cutaway Archtop was one of the most popular instruments for the working jazz guitarist, from its introduction in 1953 until its recent discontinuation. The 175 was built of Maple laminates, to reduce both feedback and prices. Joe Pass, Kenny Burrell, Joe Diorio, Toots Thielmans, Wes Montgomery, Pat Martino, Herb Ellis, Howard Roberts, Jimmy Raney, Pat Metheny – all at one time in their careers played and recorded with the venerable Gibson ES-175D.

The National Dueco Silver 12 Fret Triolian Resophonic Guitar model is a re-creation of an almost lost art. The frosted finish effect found on some pre-WWII National guitars was the result of an additive to Duco finish, creating a random crystalline pattern. The effect was uncontrollable and no two finishes are the same.

The newly improved M-14T features a 4″ deep body, improving the low end response and creating a louder, punchier instrument. The wood body National M-1 Tricone, like its close relative the M-1 Cutaway, blends the unmistakable sound of a tricone with the warmth of wood, and has a lighter weight as a bonus. Outfitted with National’s new-alloy cones and aluminum T-bridge, the National M-1 uses a mahogany laminate for the body, with solid mahogany for the neck and ebony for the bound fingerboard. The cover-plate is steel, and is hand-painted to match the colour tone of the top woods.
