Classic timeless styling. The Huss & Dalton TOM-R combines traditional flat-top construction with the red spruce bracing used in all Huss & Daltons. This guitar is especially suited for finger-style players or flatpickers with a lighter touch, yet holds up to vigorous strumming when the performance becomes more intense. The even response and airy, shimmery qualities the OM has always been known for are maintained and expanded on in the Huss & Dalton TOM-R.

This 1960 model Gretsch Country Club, with the trestle braced thinner body. The serial number grouping indicates an early part of the year, though the dates are not certain. There is some uncertainty as to the model number, because the stamp on the label is very faded. At this point, the Country Club used the designation 619x, with the ‘x’ indicating the finish colour. The most common variations are 6192 (sunburst), 6193 (natural) and 6196 (Cadillac Green). We read the last digit of the label as a 5, which can mean a custom order.

MORE →The Eastman AR805CE archtop is a high quality archtop guitar sporting a cutaway and traditional neck-mount pickup, with controls on the pickguard so the solid spruce top is not restricted by extra hardware. Hearkening back to the days of archtop supremacy, the AR805CE uses a 16 inch wide, 3.25 inch deep body built with solid woods – carved solid spruce for the top, carved solid maple for the back, and maple for the sides and neck.

MORE →This C. F. Martin Grand J-12 40e Special is a close cousin of the fantastic 2005 Martin J-40 posted recently. The Grand J-12 40e is a 12-string guitar, using a slightly larger version of the J body, with ’40’ level Abalone decorations and a DTAR multi-source pickup system. The Grand J body is somewhat bigger than a the standard J, and has a remarkably full bottom end and midrange presence delivered without hesitation. The top end is as bright and sparkly as you would expect from a Sitka Spruce top.

MORE →This Gibson Les Paul Studio is in great, original condition, with very little wear. It has all the elements of a Les Paul – the maple capped mahogany body (with weight relief) and mahogany neck. The unbound fingerboards are now Granadillo, in response to restrictions on Indian Rosewood; Granadillo is a South American Rosewood that is very commonly used for instruments on the southern continent. The Gibson Les Paul Studio is one of the better deals in quality electric guitars. Built on the same plan and same machines as other Les Paul Models, the Studio lacks binding and often has less elaborate, and less expensive, finishes. This one, dating to August 15 2013 at Nashville, sports a gloss vintage sunburst.

MORE →This Eastman MD615 F-Style mandolin dates to 2010 based on its serial number, and is in very clean condition. The top is carved Spruce, and the back is carved Flame Maple. The sides and neck are also Flame Maple, and the bound fingerboard is Ebony. The bridge and head plate are also Ebony. It has a few small chips around the edges, particularly at the top end of the headstock – this is a vulnerable spot for this type of head. For the most part the finish is very clean and unmarked.
