❌SOLD❌ Martin JC16RE Aura Jumbo Cutaway Steel String, 2007

❌SOLD❌ Martin JC16RE Aura Jumbo Cutaway Steel String, 2007

The Martin JC16RE uses what is for that company an unusual body design, a Jumbo – slightly smaller than a Dreadnought in some dimensions, and larger than an OM or 000 in virtually all body dimensions. The proportions are similar to a classical guitar, so these Jumbo models tend to have a more even tonal representation throughout the harmonic range, plus more volume. This Martin JC16RE dates to 2007 and was built at the Martin plant in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

❌SOLD❌ Avalon Ard Ri L2-310C Jumbo Cutaway Amazaque, 2016

Built in Newtownards, Northern Ireland, the Avalon Ard Ri L2-310C shows the influence of the company’s history with George Lowden, but also new in-house designs. Lowden Guitars is still operating and producing high quality instruments under the leadership of George Lowden. The original Lowden company was on the verge of folding in 1988 due to weak demand for acoustic guitars, a situation pressuring many builders at the time.

❌SOLD❌ Larrivee C09M Cutaway Maple Natural, 1991

This Larrivee C09M was built during May of 1991 in Victoria, BC and features a Sitka Spruce top, Florentine cutaway and spectacular set of Flamed Maple for the sides and back! Based on the classic Larrivee L-body, which itself draws from Larrivee’s experience building classical guitars, the Larrivee C09M pairs Sitka Spruce and Maple for the sharp Florentine-cutaway body, Mahogany for the body blocks and neck, and Ebony for the bridge, head plate, and bound fingerboard.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Mastertone Banjo, 2001

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Mastertone Banjo, 2001

Built from 1994 until a devastating flood hit Nashville in 2010, the Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard banjo reproduced the classic banjo that used by Scruggs. At first, the model was just named ‘Earl Scruggs’. The word ‘Standard’ was added in 1992, because two newer Scruggs models were introduced for the 1992 year, the ’49 Classic and the Golden Deluxe. Gibson Banjos,  including the Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard Mastertone Banjo,  are no longer available.

❌SOLD❌ Harrison GB Custom Redwood Burl Top, 2017

Here is a lovely Harrison GB Custom Redwood Burl top thinline archtop, built in Toronto during 2017 and based on a design for the late jazz artist Gary Benson. Douglas Harrison has been building arched top guitars for some years now and his GB Custom has been very popular, with most I have seen being true custom models, with varying tops and hardware configurations.

❌SOLD❌ Fender 57 Hot Rod Stratocaster Sunburst, 2011

❌SOLD❌ Fender 57 Hot Rod Stratocaster Sunburst, 2011

Here’s a great playing Fender 57 Hot Rod Stratocaster in a 3-tone sunburst, and original parts except for a replacement Fender body. The original body was flawed, and replaced under warranty by Fender. Introduced around 2007, the Fender 57 Hot Rod Stratocaster hews closely to the original design with one piece Maple neck and Alder body, but the hardware has a number of factory upgrades, some not immediately apparent.
