❌SOLD❌ Lawrence Nyberg Cittern Black Walnut and Redwood, 2018

❌SOLD❌ Lawrence Nyberg Cittern Black Walnut and Redwood, 2018

This lovely Lawrence Nyberg Cittern pairs a Redwood top and Black Walnut for the sides, back, and back strap (an extra layer on the back of the head). The neck is Mahogany, with Ebony used for the fingerboard and its binding, bridge, and the head plate. A K&K pickup is installed and connected to and end pin jack. Unusually for an instrument of this type, a steel string guitar-style ebony pin bridge is used rather than a floating bridge with an additional tailpiece.

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Committee G7628 Maple Walnut Solidbody Guitar, 1978

❌SOLD❌ Gretsch Committee G7628 Maple Walnut Solidbody Guitar, 1978

The Gretsch Committee G7628 came into being during the era of Baldwin ownership – summer 1967 to early 1985 – and was built from 1977 to 1980. This is a solidly Baldwin era Gretsch Committee G7628, a solid-body, through-neck double cutaway design built of Maple and Black Walnut. With a bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard, it carries a pair of humbucking pickups under a ‘bat-wing’ type pickguard. The pickguard was either opaque or transparent. The pickups feed through a mini-toggle selector switch and individual volume and tone controls. A hardtail bridge strung through the body and enclosed tuners complete the hardware.

The fingerboard is ebony, which is also used coupled with Curly Maple for the tailpiece; the bridge is Rosewood. DK guitars are built by Dmitry Kulakov near Ottawa. These unique instruments are visually arresting and innovative, but work well as playable instruments and sound quite good.

❌SOLD❌ National RM1 Walnut Resophonic Mandolin Sunburst, 2010

The National RM1 Walnut is built in San Luis Opisbo California and features a teardrop, almost ‘A Style’ body shape, but with a single 9.5 inch resonator cone. The RM1 Walnut pairs a figured Maple top with Black Walnut for the sides and carved back; the neck is figured Maple with a bound Ebony fingerboard. Because it’s a reso-phonic instrument, the bridge is built into the center of the resonator cone.
