❌SOLD❌ Gibson Gary Moore Les Paul Standard Honeyburst, 2000

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Gary Moore Les Paul Standard Honeyburst, 2000

The Gibson Gary Moore Les Paul was built from 2000 to 2002 at Nashville, Tennessee and reflects but doesn’t copy Moore’s 1959 Burst originally used by Peter Green in Fleetwood Mac. Taking a regular Les Paul body and neck, the Gibson Gary Moore model does away with body and neck binding, and has a wiring or magnetic configuration that mimics the ‘out of phase’ tone on Peter Green’s Burst. Green felt that the pickup had been physically reversed, but in reality one of the pickup magnets may have been reversed as a manufacturing error.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES335 Stop Tailpiece Conversion Cherry, 1968

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES335 Stop Tailpiece Conversion Cherry, 1968

Introduced in early 1958, the Gibson ES335 was an immediate hit with most players who had been using full bodied archtop guitars, because it addressed very real issues with increasing stage volumes. It was adopted by players in almost every genre, from country to jazz, R&B to rock. Originally equipped with a stop tailpiece and adjustable tune-o-matic or ABR bridge, in 1965 Gibson switched to a traditional simple trapeze tailpiece, and continued to do so until discontinuing the model in 1981. In the meantime, many guitarists removed the trapeze and had stop tailpieces installed on their ES335s.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES 150D Double Cutaway Archtop Electric Walnut, 1972

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES 150D Double Cutaway Archtop Electric Walnut, 1972

Here’s a rarity – the Gibson ES 150D, a double cutaway, full depth hollow body archtop electric built around 1972 at the Kalamazoo plant during the Norlin years. Drawing inspiration from the venerable ES-150 model – introduced in 1936 with the ‘Charlie Christian’ pickup and built until 1956 – the Gibson ES-150D is unusual. In 1958, the all-new thinline, semi-hollow ES-335 and 345 were introduced and started the final decline of the popular full depth archtop.

Here we’re looking at a PRS SC 245 built during 2008 at the PRS shop in Stevensville, Maryland. It’s in very good condition, with only slight wear; the nickel plated metal parts are developing a natural patina. This example is built using a bookmatched, carved Flame Maple top on a contoured Mahogany back and a Mahogany neck bearing an unbound Indian Rosewood fingerboard with Bird inlays. The neck joint is nicely contoured for comfort.
