❌SOLD❌ Gibson F2 Mandolin Black, 1911

❌SOLD❌ Gibson F2 Mandolin Black, 1911

Built from 1904 to 1934, the Gibson F2 mandolin featured the stylized ‘F’ body with scrollwork, but also an oval sound hole rather than F-holes. Oval sound holes seem to provide a bit more sound to the player, while F-hole models tend to project their sound outwards, further. It’s always fascinating to see an instrument like this Gibson F2 mandolin, now over a century old and still in good playing condition.

The C F Martin 00-18 steel string guitar has its origins in 1898, and was originally built with Rosewood back and sides until 1917, and braced for gut strings until 1923. It stayed in production until 1995, and was brought back online in 2016 with the occasional custom shop or signature model made available in the in-between time.In the form we’re most familiar with, the Martin 00-18 steel string guitar uses Martin’s smaller ’00’ sized body, using Sitka Spruce top and braces paired with Mahogany for the sides, back, 14-fret neck, and body blocks.

No Longer Available - Gibson ES330 Thinline Archtop Cherry 1969

Built from 1959 to 1972, the Gibson ES330 is essentially the same as the 1961 ES-230 Epiphone Casino, a double cutaway, fully hollow model with a pair of P-90 pickups. From a short distance, the Gibson ES330 looks very much like the ES-335 models, but there is a key construction difference in the lack of the center block. The body is otherwise similar, with Laminate Maple for the top, back and sides, with Mahogany for the neck and a bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES 335 Thinline Archtop Cherry 2012

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES 335 Thinline Archtop Cherry 2012

The Gibson ES 335 changed many things when introduced in 1958, combining the feedback resistance and sustain of a solidbody with the ’rounder’ tone of an archtop. This has been one of Gibson’s most successful models, and is still in production. Here we’re looking at a Gibson ES 335 variant – the ES 335 DP, indicating that it has double pickups and a plain top.
