The Xits X10 amp is based on a classic early 60’s Vox design using EL-84 tubes and delivering 15 watts through a single 12 inch speaker, in this case a Celestoin Greenback G12M.
Introduced in 2009, Xits seems to have gone out of business by 2015. This amp dates to 2010, and is in excellent condition.
From an early press release about the release of the X10 and X4:
“XITS X10
The younger sibling of the XITS Sadie, the X10 is a single-channel 15-watt combo that offers pure early-‘60s tone that responds to your touch, just like an XITS Amp should. With three 12AX7-driven gain stages and a dual-EL84 power section, user controls are: Volume 1, Treble, Bass, Volume 2 (post-phase-inverter Master), Bright Switch and a three-position (center off) Control Switch.
The X10’s tones range from chimey clean to fully saturated drive. The Master Volume allows both preamp and power amp gain and levels to be blended for limitless combination of tone and loudness.
All X10 and X4 cabinets have been designed to provide a big sound in a small package. The back opening has been sized and positioned to allow the perfect blend of sound from both the front and back of the loudspeaker.
The cabinet is constructed out of 1/2″ Baltic birch plywood with a floating baffle, so the cabinet resonates and comes to life as the amplifier’s volume is increased. Chilewich woven vinyl is “welded” to the cabinet shell to provide unmatched scuff and abrasion resistance.”
