❌SOLD❌ Groove Tubes GT Soul-O Single 1×10 Tube Combo Amplifier, 2005

Groove Tubes, or GT, was founded in San Fernando California during 1979 by Aspen Pittman, widely respected as an authority on tube amps – in fact he wrote ‘The Tube Amp Book’, one of the basic reference sources for vintage tube amplifier service and design.

Groove Tubes is mostly known for its focus on providing graded, tested and matched sets of vacuum tubes, but until the company’s 2008 purchase by Fender, it also produced microphones, accessories and a line of tube guitar amps. However, following the handover, these other lines were discontinued and consequently GT amps are rather rare.

Here we see a Groove Tubes GT Soul-O Single combo amplifier, dating to 2005 and sporting a single 10 inch Jensen speaker. Depending on what tubes are installed, this very nice little amp can deliver from 8 to 15 watts. It is in very good condition with very little wear, and the original instruction sheet is included.

Of interest, the back panel of this amp features a parallel effects loop with a Mix control. The parallel nature of the loop keeps whatever’s plugged into it from affecting the basic signal until it is called on. One of the suggested tricks is to add a volume pedal to the front of that chain, set the effects to 100% wet signal, set the Mix control as desired, and use the volume pedal as an effects blend without altering the amp’s volume.
