Here’s a fantastic Fender Vibro-King 20th Anniversary combo amp from 2013, delivering 60 watts through a trio of ten-inch speakers. This model is hand wired and all tube, minus a solid-state rectifier.
The Fender Vibro-King was introduced in 1993, and was quickly adopted by players like Pete Townsend, Gary Clark Jr. and the late Tom Petty. The 20th anniversary edition replaced the stock Vibro-King and was available from 2013 to 2016.
This front panel design of the Fender Vibro-King 20th Anniversary amp seems to follow the circuit layout. Starting with a pair of input jacks for High and Low gain, the Reverb section appears with Dwell, Mix and Tone controls. The EQ section then presents a ‘fat’ switch, Volume, Treble, Bass and Mid controls. Finally, the Vibrato section offers Speed and Intensity controls. A two-button footswitch allows on/off control for both Reverb and Vibrato. The back panel also features a pair of jacks for Effects Send and Return, which are placed before the EQ section.
Tubes used in this amp are five 12AX7 pre-amp and vibrato tubes, a pair of 6L6 (or 5881) power tubes, and a single 6V6 for the Reverb section.
The cabinet, here seen in the optional ‘Blackface’ influenced colours, sports three Fender Special Design Jensen Alnico P10R-F ten inch speakers.
Overall, this amp is in very good, clean condition with minimal wear. It has a wide range of very good sounds, delivered with a pretty substantial amount of volume.
