For years, it was very common to see the Fender Super Reverb on stages everywhere. Pushing 45 watts through a 4×10 speaker set, the Super Reverb packaged everything most players needed. These amps project well, and can be loud and clean.
The Super Reverb was the 1963 evolution of the Super amp line that first appeared in 1947. At that point the Super had 20 watts and 2×10 inch speakers, and rose to 30 watts in 1960 and 45 watts in 1962. The Super was discontinued in 1963 to focus on the Super Reverb, which was itself discontinued in 1982.
This Fender Super Reverb is a 1968 ‘Silverface’ model, built in Fullerton California not long after CBS purchased the Fender company. It’s in overall good condition, and has been recently serviced. Some capacitors have been replaced, as is necessary over time, and two speakers have been re-coned.
