The Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue brings back one of Fender’s most popular amps in the ‘Blackface’ variant from the mid 1960s. The Deluxe Reverb is a 22 watt, two channel amp and its moderate power makes it ideal for use in studios and small to medium sized venues – past that, just put a mic in front of it!
This Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue dates to 2016 and was built in Corona, California. It’s in very good clean condition with its original footswitch and Fender-branded slip cover. This model uses the AB763 circuit as introduced with the 1963 Deluxe Reverb – the 763 is a date code, referencing July 1963. That circuit was used on a number of very successful amps including the Twin Reverb, Super Reverb, Band-Master, Showman, Pro, Vibrolux, Vibroverb and Tremolux models.
These are great sounding amps with enough power for many situations – but not so much that they can’t be used in smaller spaces. At 42 pounds or 19Kg, it’s still quite portable.
Here’s the builder on the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue:
“Played on countless hit recordings for decades now, the mid-’60s Deluxe Reverb is a timeless Fender classic and one of the most indispensable workhorse guitar amps ever made. Moderately powered and producing a full, snappy and crystalline tone revered in studios from Muscle Shoals to Abbey Road and on stages worldwide, it’s a must-have tone machine. Today, the ’65 Deluxe Reverb is still one of the coolest amps around, with the fantastic sound and vintage mid-’60s style still prized by rock, blues and country players everywhere. A classic then and a classic now. “
