Louis Electric is run by Louis Rosano, who has been designing and hand building amps for over 20 years, with a who’s who client list including Keith Richards, Hubert Sumlin and Warren Hanes. These amps are individually hand built of carefully selected and tested components. The tonal inspiration for these amplifiers is mid-1950’s Fender amps, like the 1958 Tweed Twinmaster.
This Louis Electric KR12 is based on the M2 model Louis built for Hubert Sumlin, who spent decades as Howlin’ Wolf’s guitarist. This amp has several gain options and unmatched headroom, but preserves the warmth of a 1950’s and 1960’s vintage style amp. The KR12 has Volume and Master Volume controls, middle, treble, bass plus Presence. It is switchable between 20 and 40 watts and for a speaker uses a Celestion Classic Lead 80.
This 2014 example is in excellent condition and has just a great tone!
