Polytone Amps are no longer available, but for several decades were *the* amp for jazz guitar and bassists in clubs, built for tone, power, and portability.
Polytone was founded in the 1960s by accordionist Tommy Gumina, as an outgrowth of his efforts to amplify and modify the sound of his accordions. With legendary Jazz guitarist Joe Pass, Gumina also founded Polytone Reccords in 1987.
Tommy Gumima died in October 2013, and the company seems to have disappeared.
