Mario Beauregard has a one-man shop outside of Montreal, Quebec in St-Denis-sur-Richelieu and builds high end guitars, primarily steel string and archtops but also nylon string jazz models.
After working in Vancouver at Tom Lee Music, he worked with Robert D’Crivouir, then went to the Roberto-Venn luthierie school, and there met Ervin Somogyi and was invited to study with him in Oakland, California. During that time, he also studied archtop construction with the late Taku Sakashta in Santa Rosa. Eventually, he moved back to Quebec and for four years was the designer for LaSiDo, which is run by Robert Godin.
Beauregard instruments are exceptional, and highly sought after by accomplished players.
