Jackson Guitars was founded in Glendora, California during 1980 by Grover Jackson and the company’s first guitar was a custom order for Randy Rhoads. Jackson developed a reputation for innovative, high quality American made instruments.
By the 1990’s, some product versions were built in Asian facilities to make them more accessible. In 2002, Fender Musical Instruments Corporation purchased the Jackson company and has been operating and distributing it since then.
