The Twelfth Fret is an Authorized Huss and Dalton Dealer for Canada
The Huss and Dalton Guitar Company, Inc. is run by Jeff Huss and Mark Dalton, who met while Huss was working as a luthier for the Stelling Banjo Company. Dalton soon joined Stelling to apply his expertise in finishing processes. By October 1995, they formed the Huss and Dalton company in Staunton, Virginia.
In 2004, Huss and Dalton purchased a Computer Numeric Control or CNC machine to help with producing parts, and this helps with the consistency of the final instruments. Still, there’s a lot of hand work involved in finishing and assembling the components.
Huss and Dalton uses AAA-grade top woods, graded to determine their load-bearing properties, and are thickness-sanded to achieve the best balance of strength and flexibility. Tops are built using a 25-foot radius to provide increased strength and boost mid-range response.
All Huss & Dalton guitars are braced with hand-split Appalachian red spruce, which has a greater strength-to-weight ratio than other woods more commonly used for braces. The bridge plates are made from Honduras rosewood, selected for its superior tonal properties, durability, and resistance to wear from string ball ends. Bone is used for both nuts and compensated saddles. Necks are made of quarter-sawn Honduras mahogany, maple, walnut, or Spanish Cedar, are hand carved and fitted with adjustable truss rods. Custom neck shaping is available!
The Twelfth Fret is pleased to carry the Huss & Dalton line. These are very high quality instruments and well worth checking out.
