Email remains the best way to keep in touch with us but our response time can vary from several hours to several days. We receive as many as 200 emails a day and have a hard time keeping up.  Normally if you don't hear back from us in 2 or 3 days,  it is safe to assume that your email is buried deep in our In Box.  Simply email again to serve as a second reminder that you require a response and hopefully we will answer promptly ... or if that fails,  call us by telephone.

We check our voice mail every morning around 11:00 local time.

G.W. Barry
Maple OM
(Consignment)

photo

detail of front

detail of back

detail of neck

  • Serial Number:... 0803-01 circa 2001
  • Description:... This is one of those guitars where I'm sure OM stands for Oh Mamma.... this guitar sounds great! Not only is this guitar super comfortable to play with its compact OM body size and low profile neck profile but it is as light as a feather! Big leaf maple is a dense hard wood which is often described as bright sounding because it has fewer overtones than other medium density woods and has a quicker note decay. However, maple does have a very focused and dominate note fundamental with a treble sparkle that really cuts through a mix making it a preferred tone wood for live performance. Some players find that maple guitars are overly bright and lack bass response but that is certainly not the case with this guitar. There is probably more tight and defined bass response on this guitar than any other maple instrument that I have heard. The treble sparkle and laser beam like note fundamental is still there but the lower midrange and bass provide extra girth to the overall sound making this an exceptional sounding guitar for use in solo or band settings. As always the simple but elegant design aesthetic from G.W. Barry makes this guitar as appealing visual as it is tonally!
  • Neck:... Mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, 1 3/4" bone nut, 25.5" scale length, low profile neck shape.
  • Frets:... Minor wear mostly on the high b and e strings in first position.
  • Body:... OM body with Sitka spruce top and Big Leaf maple sides and back, spruce body binding.
  • Finish:... Overall excellent condition with only a few minor pick scratches and scuffs on the top.
  • Hardware/electronics:... Schaller tuners with ebony buttons
  • Playability/Action:... Great playability with current action at 5/64" bass side and 4.5/64" treble side and 7/64" saddle protruding.
  • Case:... TKL hardshell case
  • Pricing:... $4000.00 Canadian Dollars (approx.$3773.US$).

This limited edition 00042M Eric Clapton (#8 of 250) takes all of the great features of Eric's signature model and ups the ante with a Carpathian spruce top, Madagascar sides and back and 42  and 45 style abalone inlay work! First off this guitar looks great, stunning wood sets, cool aged toner top and that alternate torch patter peghead inlay is mesmerizing! Martin really hit this one out of the park with the wood combination. The Carpathian spruce blends the power and clarity of Adirondack spruce with the warm and responsiveness of Italian alpine spruce. • Serial Number:... 051307 circa 2007
  • Description:... Roberto Balestrero has been hand building acoustic instruments since 1988. He spent 13 years in Brazil making Brazilian, conventional and custom instruments and is now based in the US where he continues to build flat top steel string guitars. This dreadnought style guitar features a lovely set of Brazilian rosewood on the sides and back, a Sitka spruce top, mahogany and maple neck, ebony fretboard and bridge. The Brazilian rosewood has some great figured grain lines and dark chocolate hues. This guitar has a deep and full bass response, articulate midrange, crisp trebles and a strong note fundamental. The dynamic range on this instrument is really responsive and there is lots of headroom. This guitar sounds best when it is aggressively flat picked and strummed however it does produce some more subtle nuances for fingerstyle playing!
  • Neck:... Three piece mahogany/maple/mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, flame maple binding, 1 3/4" bone nut, 25.4" scale length, 16" neck radius, low profile neck shape, "closed bud" fingerboard inlay.

"L-00" Acoustic
(Consignment)

  • Serial Number:... 240108 circa 2008
  • Description:... This "L-00" style flat top from luthier Marc Beneteau is an example of extremely high quality craftsmanship and beautifully understated design sense! This small body features an Engelmann spruce top, Hawaiian Koa sides and back, Honduran mahogany neck, blood wood binding and a delicious honey burst finish. Marc has kept the appointments simple allowing the color and grain of the koa and the honey burst top to create a unifying theme. The blood wood binding provided a bold outline but never distracts the eye and I think it really accentuates the overall look of the guitar. The koa has a nice mahogany like midrange presence with some high end sizzle similar to maple. Pairing  koa with the engelmann top provides a mature sound with a midrange that is a little richer than sitka spruce. This creates a very pleasing tone that works really well for fingerstyle playing and light to medium strumming. This guitar sounds as sweet as the honey burst top looks!
  • Neck:... Honduran mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard, 14 fret neck to body, 1 11/16" bone nut, 24 3/4" scale length, low elliptical neck profile.
  • Frets:... Minor wear mostly on the high b and e strings in first position.

  • Serial Number:... none;  label indicates 1998 year of fabrication

Sergei de Jonge was making guitars for a living before most of us had ever heard the word "luthier",  before you could rev up your computer and order wood over the internet,  before you could buy specialized guitar building tools and jigs,  before there were even any readily available books at all on the subject of guitar building. He pitched a tent on the beach in the winter and walked to Pat Lister's shop every day to learn his craft,  then he slept on Jean Larrivee's bench at night and learned from the master during the day.  He has a desire not only to build fine guitars,  but the intelligence and creativity to actually push the boundaries of accepted guitar design into new territory.  Here is an absolutely STUNNING sounding example of his work with steel string guitars in the form of a Sitka/Brazilian non cutaway!

  • Serial Number:...  08295131AAA circa 2008
  • Description:...  The LGX-SA is a three-voice guitar featuring electric and acoustic guitar sounds, plus the infinite possibilities provided by synth access. The output from the bridge transducer system in the LGX-SA produces six separate signals—one for each string. This divided signal is called hexaphonic and is used to drive guitar synths. The LGX adapted itself to this application quite easily. However, in addition to the electronic modifications, the guitar itself was altered in order to achieve the best possible performance. The most visible difference between the standard LGX and the LGX-SA is in the ebony fingerboard. The use of the ebony fingerboard improves synth tracking. Guitar synth systems in the past were technically complicated and required radical changes in playing technique. The LGX-SA/RolandTM GR-synth combination represents a new standard in user friendliness and performance.  This particular example is in as-new condition with the protective plastic covering still on the cavity covers!!!
