| Ignacio Fleta is arguably one of the most important
luthiers of the twentieth century. Fleta's instrument building career
started in the mid 1920's building a variety of violin and guitar family
instruments. By the mid '50s, after hearing Andres Segovia
in concert for the first time, he decided to dedicate the rest of
his life to fabricating concert level guitars. Until his death in
1977, Feta gained a world wide reputation for excellence and boasted
a client list that included Andres Segovia, John Williams and Alexandre
Lagoya, to name just a few!
Kenny Hill has studied the construction
techniques of the original Fleta instruments ... the unusual dovetail neck
joint ... robust body build ... singular strutting pattern ... high bridge
orientation, all of which help define the Fleta sonic fingerprint.
This particular custom Brazilian rosewood instrument was made in Kenny
Hill's California workshop and has THE definitive Fleta response!!! |
