Corin de Jonge Short Scale Classical Guitar

I can't think of another family in the history of instrument building that is so totally involved in luthiery than the de Jonges.  Of course the patriarch of this guitar dynasty is Sergei de Jonge who,  over the last thirty-five years has gained a reputation world wide for creating concert level instruments with innovative design elements ... but there have been many more members of the de Jonge family out there making names for themselves.  Joshia,  Sagan, Rubin, Alan ... son-in-law Patrick Hodgins ... have all produced work of the highest level.  The latest in this impressive luthier lineage is Sergei's youngest son Corin.

The instrument that I'm reviewing today was made for a serious player who wants a shorter scale instrument for ease of playability ... but does not want to sacrifice tone or projection.  The commission for this guitar went to Corin de Jonge,  who decided on a 630 mm scale length with a Red spruce top,  Indian rosewood back and sides,  Cherry neck with ebony fingerboard and an expertly applied thin French Polish finish!
