Miller Barncaster

This unique guitar from the workshop of Alastair Miller wasn't such much "born in a barn" as it was "born of a barn." Dubbed the Barncaster due to its 50's style Telecaster body and one piece 150 year old barnboard body wood this is one interesting instrument. Some builders have experimented to great success with non traditional body woods (Bob Taylor's pallet guitar comes to mind) to prove its more about how you build the guitar then the materials you use!

Alastair Miller has done a great job combining vintage looks and features with a custom electronic configuration on this guitar in order for it to stand out in a crowd of Telecaster copies. The bridge pickup is a custom Lollar pickup, the middle is a lipstick style and the bridge has 50's lap steel style pickup. The tone control employs a Vitamin Q tone cap in order to retain some high end sparkle as the tone control is rolled back.

Any one with big hands or that just loves those big "boat" neck shapes will find this guitar a perfect fit. I am usually a fan of smaller neck profile and even I found this neck comfortable. The relic military green finish gives this guitar a cool look and the barnboard body is a conversation starter for sure, however the best thing about this guitar in my opinion is interesting tonal pallet provided by the pickup and electronic combination!!
