The Mesa Boogie Mark 1 combo amp was originally based on various Fender amplifiers - a Princeton with Bassman circuitry and a 12 inch speaker. What shipped as the Mark 1 was 60 watts with Presence and Slave controls on the back. Reverb was optional and not particularly common. These amps were immediately popular with touring guitarists, and were adopted by players like Carlos Santana and Keith Richards.

The Mesa Boogie Mark I was built from 1971 to 1978, but wasn't called the Mark 1 until the Mark II appeared in 1980. The Mark I was also reissued in 1989 and built until 2007.

This 1977 example is not a reissue, and is in all original, good working order. It features 2 6L6 power tubes delivering 60 watts into a 12 inch Altec speaker. There is some wear on the creme tolex, grillecloth and cabinetry but it is solid and functional.
