Mosrite instruments were built by Semie Moseley in Bakersfield, California from the late 1950's to the early 1990s. The Mosrite Ventures Bass, along with other Mosrite instruments, features a shaped top, and this is a direct influence from Roger Rossmeisl, who was at the Rickenbacker plant when Mosely apprenticed there. Roger Rossmeisl was responsible for many ground - breaking designs, including several Rickenbacker models and the Fender Telecaster Thinline.
This 1967 Mosrite Ventures Bass is in original condition. It has a 30 1/4 inch scale length, with a nut width of 1 3/4 inches. THe body is basswood and the bolt-on neck is maple, so it's fairly light and resonant. The lacquer sunburst finish is original and has some wear and checking but is in decent condition.
All in all a very cool vintage bass!
