Today we are featuring the latest addition to the popular 12-fret Grand Concert guitars from Taylor. The mahogany back and sides provide even more sweet and full midrange to the already huge tone coming from this small guitar!
It started with a 35th Anniversary model and Bob Taylor liked the design so much that the 12 Fret Grand Concert model was put into regular production. This wonderfully comfortable guitar features a Sitka spruce top, Mahogany sides and back, a 12-fret neck to body design with a slotted head stock, venetian cutaway and Taylor ES pickup system.
The reorientation of the neck, body and bridge makes for a dramatically different sounding Grand Concert. The bridge being shifted farther back on the lower bout provides a blend between modern and vintage tonal flavors. The midrange on this guitar is rich and warm and the treble frequencies have a distinctive snap and brilliance. The shorter scale and venetian cutaway on this guitar make it a joy to play and the warm wonderfully aged tone makes it easy to see why this is Bobs new favourite!!
